BACK TO THE BULL RING!!

Hey all!

The oh so long! holidays have finally come to a screeching halt now.Its back to the Bull ring-Amrita School of Engineering 2nd year B.Tech Mechanical Engg. from tomorrow.Its back to all those darn things I mentioned in the last post.This semester is quite crucial from the academic perspective for me as it'll leave a deep impact on my now not so good CGPA.The minimum ask for me to safely remain in the race for a 8 pointer is quite daunting as I will have to get somewhere close to a 8 pointer(above it infact).I'm quite excited though to get back to college and a bundle of friends after a long layoff...and am really satisfied and happy to have made a few wonderful friends these holidays..kudos to all u people.Its going to be all core subjects from tomorrow(Will it make a difference???)...Extra fittings removed.Finally happy to attend college without the darn subject called C or C++.Boooooo Dennis Ritchie and a Bigger Boooooooo Bjarne Stroustrup!And it'll be interesting to start a long second innings in college as a senior and hoping that it'll be awesome to enjoy all the positive benifits that come along with being a senior.And to end this post, seriously wishing that all our new faculties who'll be unravalled tomorrow are a bit interesting as a consequence of which I get to sleep lesser in class.I'm making a promise most likely to broken sometime soon when i'll blog next..."I'll stop bunking my oh so interesting! classes." :)

Holidays are steadily nearing its end and yet again this question haunts me 'What are the useful things that I've managed to do during these really long holidays??'Well I can still pass off with an unconvincing answer to the question by saying 'I have learnt swimming and driving' with a small grin on the edge of my not so impressive lips!!But I wish I did something more than just these...something more useful, something more thought provoking....and this phrase 'thought provoking' reminds me...my brain has really had its vacation time these holidays...Need to wait and watch as to how it reacts after such a long break...but one thing is for sure...getting back to books, studies, assignments, tests, observations, records and above all 'EVALUATION'(the word that creates all the hoopla in Amrita) is definitely an experience which both me and my brain are going to find tough to relish.

These holidays have witnessed a lot of events worldwide...there was never one dull moment in the news channels...the holidays had a grand kick-off with the parliamentary elections...lots of drama and the news channels turned into entertainment channels...the vocal chords of the news anchors really would have undergone an acid test!!and the politicians were doing almost anything for votes...for example Varun Gandhi tried to become a loved villain like amrish puri(in hindi films) or Nambiar(in tamil films) to gain publicity and the news channels were having a gala time telecasting his HATE speech.And the other item which was interesting were the slipper throwing incidents which all the news channels were telecasting time and again!And not to mention the counting day.I was flipping news channels like crazy to know the results.Entertainment at its peak!Truly Indian Political League.Entertainment ka baap(Translation:Father of entertainment)!

IPL fever was on.The team which I badly supported fell flat and touched rock bottom.The Kolkata Knight Riders perhaps came to the party perhaps a bit too late winning their last two matches in style.I enjoyed their win against the Chennai Super Kings in particular.Perhaps Dada(My favourite cricketer Sourav Ganguly) should have remained the skipper for better fortunes.Blog-a-taiment touched its peak with the Fake IPL player controversy.A person claiming to be an insider from the Kolkata Knight riders team started posting about dressing room gossips and stuff.It was an entertaining read though!!

T20 world cup was bad.It was a tournament not many Indians would have relished..courtesy:the dismal showing by the world champs.Dhoni who was once a hero after leading India to consecutive wins and never seemed to be stopping since he took over the reigns, was criticised beyond limit and the same people who once cheered Indian team during their 2007 t20 victory procession in Mumbai started mud slinging and critcising team India.Its sad that we, most of the Indian fans have never changed.When the team performs, they treat cricketers as nothing short of superhumans and when the team ends up losing just one tournament, they go to the extent of performing last rites for the cricketers.Its truly disgusting.This is the time when the team really needs our support...so GO INDIA GO...Get that old josh yet again.

French open declared Roger Federer as the greatest human to have ruled the tennis arena and the on going Wimbledon might as well declare him unconquerable.Hoping for a Fedex victory yet again.

So these are the things that kept me occupied during these holidays and add to it sleeping and hogging foodstuff and yo ran the holidays till now..

Hey all...

I'm writing this post because I've got nothing else to do.Life is sailing smooth during these holidays.I'm on with my driving classes now.I guess thats the only useful thing I'm doing.For quite some time now, I've been wishing that I join swimming classes,but folks,it never seems to happen.Thats the whole thing with me.I keep delaying things.But well,I'm real freaking out on the cricket season now.First IPL and now T20 world cup.There was also the french open which fedex finally conquered.It had been eluding him very often.The champ really deserved it.And as far as T20 world cup is concerned, India certainly looks like a team which is very capable to defend its crown of being the 'World Champions'.Only teams that look like posing a challenge are South Africa,New Zealand and West Indies to a wee bit if Gayle plays.Lets watch out what happens.GO INDIA GO.

Then mates...I forgot to tell this.I've managed to sneak through my second semester as well with a modest grade point average of 7.Hope there is some good improvement next time around.Somehow, it all seems so tough to go beyond this 7.But there was one positive regarding the 2nd semester which I can cherish.I got the second highest grade possbile in Math.Bla Bla Bla...Now my fingers refuse to type anything more regarding my academics...gets too boring at times.Well.!

There were 2 good movies which I watched during this one month of holidays."Catch me If you can' and 'The Aviator' both starring Leonardo dicaprio.The first one stars Tom Hanks as well.Both these movies were nothing short of masterpieces I should say.DiCaprio is simply amazing I should say.If you people havent watched them, dont give them a miss.

Well then...will try posting more often these holidays.

Well to put it shortly....College life was a tougher nut to crack than i expected it to be from what people said...I just managed to sneak through my first semester with 7.11points(sgpa)...quite satisfied considering the amount of effort and low expectations.My holidays were quite okay till now...i've sort of become a crazy BOND fan after CASINO ROYALE and QOS..so started watching the previous bond flicks...thanks to these torrent softwares..they make downloading a far better experience...also i've started playing street cricket once again with my friends...i really dont remember when i last played cricket..as of now it's been smooth sailing ,these holidays....now that i've started blogging...one more task fits into my daily routine thereby a way to kill boredom...lets see how long this blogging run goes on...

Phelps and Bolt.....these were the two big names that really stole the show at the beijing olympics...Phelps has really proved that there is almost no one to beat him on water and Bolt really sprinted at lightening speed earning him the title "Lightening bolt"....these guys have really made the records tumble....8 golds..that really speaks about phelps...about what a phenomenon he truly is....9.69 seconds for 100 m..this proves Bolt is really inhuman...also he finished the 200m sprint in just 19.32 seconds...Wow!!Both of them really rocked Beijing....

Finally...Indians have started to arrive at the olympic stage...A billion cheers to Abhinav Bindra(G),Sushil Kumar(B) and Vijender kumar(B)...they've really given us a reason to feel prouder....Hope the no. of medals keep increasing exponentially(is it possible???!!!!!) in the coming olympics...

The results for the last test i wrote have started coming.....i got my maths paper and i've scored a decent 35...but this was my best paper (or so i had thought)...then just imagine the fate of my other subjects...especially electrical...!!!am really gonna have an awful time frm monday...and already teachers have started frightening us about the next exam...beginning just in about four weeks from now...this time i truly need to work harder to keep my hopes alive for my end semester...already i have lost around 5 marks(or even more...am feelin' lazy to calculate) for my end semester in my mathematics exam...and u know...one more thing..the college sends the results of all the exams through post right to the doorstep of it's students' homes....i really dont know why this college wants to spark off a mini war at my home :(

Hmmm....After a long gap..here iam again....I'm really gettin' pissed off with my coll work....exams r on now....4 over and already...my hope gone...Funny...ain't it...just a month back i thought coll lyf would allow me 2 be a free bird but now....aaarrrghhh!!!...well for my 1st semester i have six subjects....maths,engineering mechanics,physics,comp.,electrical engg. and english....wat a damn system this college has got....u join...then after 1 month ur hopes r ruined....come on...exams cant b held that fast...and these marks count for ur final semester exams...which makes all d more gruesome...well hope atleast i fare better after this!!!!

Hmm....i would say i really enjoyed my school life even after getting those horrendous punishments like kneeling down with a dunce in my 6th(this really deserves mention) after i slapped a guy on his face since he had done his home work and i hadn't and he didn't show his work to me...i was immediately dragged to the principal who was really sick of me...she had even frightened me using dead snakes(from the senior biology lab) to stop my mischieves....but i was still unstoppable...i was the naughtiest of the lot...well i was average in studies... but never ever completed my homework..so it was entertainment whole in whole for the class every period with me being the cheif performer....I had studied in this school from my Kindergarten to my 7th standard....I had a jolly time there....

Well mates....I'd like to give a brief description about my life till now....i was born on july30 1991 in chennai a metropolitan in india and the capital of tamil nadu(most of u know this...but still...adjust karna yaar)...from then my life has been very normal...nothing special to mention except for my mischievousness throughout my years in school where i've got all d punishments ever possible...now i've just finished my aweful,awesome,wonderful,eventful etc..etc.. school life...i've just joined my college i.e.Amrita college of engineering-Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu which opens on july7...i've taken mechanical engineering as my subject of study...am looking out for an eventful 4 years there...
